Most of our clients come to us well in advance of their moves, but sometimes circumstances are such that they need to be out of their homes much more quickly than anticipated. That’s what happened with one lovely client in a very large home in Lake Oswego.
Due to a faster than expected sale of her home, she needed our assistance right away to help her through the entire move process. Since most of her immediate family live in England, she had only one family member here to help sort her many belongings into a smaller retirement community apartment, so The Move Makers stepped in to help.
One of our trained move managers created a scaled floor plan of her new apartment, and worked alongside the client to make the tough decisions of what to take and what to donate. These were a lifetime of memories, so we always employ a compassionate approach to the process. and we were able to quickly and efficiently downsize and sort what she wished to keep or donate, and dispersed those items she no longer needed to community donation centers where they would do the most good for others.
After a few hectic but productive days of packing, we then unpacked her goods and set up her new apartment just the way she liked it, right down to making her bed that first night, During the process, we packed up some beautiful family heirlooms to ship to her relatives in England. We even went back weeks later to hang some artwork and make a few tweaks to the furniture layout. Our client was truly happy for the efficiency and professionalism of The Move Makers team.
